Review and approve tenant construction plans.Work with city and county building and construction officials to establish construction guidelines for the assigned airports.Assist in prioritizing equipment needs.Initiate and process purchase orders for parts, equipment, and supplies needed for airport maintenance and equipment repairs.Schedule escorts for agencies and contractors requiring access to Airport Operations Area (AOA).Coordinate and supervise preventative maintenance programs for equipment.Coordinate airport construction projects with the Federal Aviation Administration, airport tenants, and field maintenance staff.Participate in the development of the capital improvement program for assigned airports.Represent the reliever airport staff at airport development construction meetings.The ability to respond to the airports after hours, attend occasional evening meetings and to oversee a limited number of weekend events is a requirement of this position. The Manager of Reliever Airports is responsible for the daily management, operation, security and maintenance of airports assigned by the Director of Reliever Airports. This position supervises maintenance personnel assists in the development, implementation, and enforcement of Reliever Airports' policies, rules and regulations serves as a point of contact for airport tenants and tenant groups represents the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) at various tenant group meetings serves as a point of contact for citizens and communities surrounding assigned airports represents MAC through public presentations at various community meetings coordinates airport activities with the Minnesota Department of Transportation's Office of Aeronautics and the Federal Aviation Administration works closely with the Airport Development staff to plan and implement airport improvement projects and develops budgets for assigned airports based upon need. The Reliever Airport department consists of one Director, one Assistant Director, and three Managers. The Metropolitan Airports Commission's Reliever Airports department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the organization's six reliever airports.
